TAM Media Research Private Limited (“TAM”, “We”, “Our” and “Us”) cares about Your data privacy and is committed to protecting Your (“You”, “Your”, “Yourself”, “User”, “Users”) personal information that we may receive while You accesses our website (“Site”) and mobile application (“App”). We believe it is important for You to know how we treat your information and want You to be familiar with how We collect and use personal data. This privacy statement also describes Your legal rights concerning such personal data, This Privacy Policy is devised to help You feel more confident about the privacy and security of Your personal data.

If You are a TAM panelist, Your participation in our panel, collection and use of your data will be governed as per the TAM panel membership agreement cum consent form signed and agreed by You.

Exercising Your rights and choices

 Participation in our Panel is always voluntary. Registered panelists may withdraw from our ongoing data collection at any time by contacting TAM’s Data Protection Officer and uninstalling our App/software. Any temporary or unintentional deactivation of the App will not be considered a withdrawal from the Panel. If You are a registered panelist and You cease participation, we will continue to process the data we collected during the time You were a panelist in accordance with the applicable Panelist Privacy Statement.

You may also have the right to:

  • request confirmation that we are processing Your personal data;
  • request that we update the personal data we hold about You or correct such information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • object to our processing of Your personal data;
  • withdraw the consent that You have given us to process Your personal data
  • request that we delete the personal data we hold about You; and
  • lodge a complaint with our Data Protection Officer authority.

TAM Privacy Commitment

 TAM complies with all applicable privacy laws including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, of 2023.

 Data Collection

 When you register as a panelist or survey respondent, TAM collects limited information about You when You visit the App. Such information may include personal data i.e, information that alone or in combination with other information, identifies You or can be reasonably linked to You as an individual. However, TAM Sites/Apps/microsites and any other related links, do not automatically capture any specific personal information from You, (like name, phone number or e-mail address), unless You allow us to collect or You are a registered TAM panelist, TAM does not collect any information from You if You download a TAM Digital Mobile App on Your device.

 Compliance with legal obligations: We may process Your personal data if necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation arising under an applicable law to which we are subject.

The information we collect about You may include:

  1. Personal information when You visit the Site/App
  2. Information/files/documents/data that You share with other Users on the Site/App, and
  3. Information that is passively or automatically collected from You, such as information collected from the browser or device You used to access Our SITE or App or services.

In this Privacy Policy, we refer to all this as the ‘User Information’. To explain further,

  • Information You Provide To Us. There are areas in the Site / App where We may need to collect personal information from You for a specific purpose. For e.g. You can register, and apply to participate in research/ survey purposes. We gather certain information about the User, such as Internet protocol (IP) addresses, domain name, browser type, operating system, the date and time of the visit and the pages visited. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the Site has been detected.

  • Collection of Specific Information with Your consent
  • Installed Applications: We collect details about the Apps installed on Your device. This includes, but is not limited to, App names, icons, and usage data i.e. App usage duration
  • Basic device info: We collect basic device info i.e. make and model numbers of the device.
  • Audio/Video application usage: Listening or viewing duration of Audio/Video applicable OTT applications are also collected for usage analysis purpose.

How We May Use the User Information

Collected information on App, basic device information and Audio/Video listening patterns will be used to analyze and prepare reports for the purpose of market research. This information will be used to understand user behavior and preferences. All this information will be used anonymously, without linking to You.

TAM will obtain your personal information like a list of mobile applications installed on your device, name of mobile applications, icons, logos, and mobile application usage duration. However, TAM does not track the content of any banking apps, finance apps, emails, WhatsApp, Facebook and messenger Apps. TAM will process the Apps consumption data only for the purpose of market research and to understand Apps consumption and behavior.

TAM will maintain strict confidentiality of your personal information and will not be shared with third parties except in exceptional circumstances or when we are obligated, or when it is required by the government authorities, bodies, departments, investigating agencies, or courts, by law and by third-party auditors with whom we have strict confidentiality agreements and with our authorized representatives, employees, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. We request You to keep your participation confidential.

By entering Your User Information, You accept that We may retain Your User Information and that it may be held by Us or any Partners that processes it on Our behalf. We, along with Our Partners, shall be entitled to Use Your User Information for the following purposes:

  • provide and communicate with You about feedback, and follow up on programs/research/surveys You’ve applied/participated.
  • Fulfill Your requests regarding the services, including without limitation responding to Your inquiries, communicating with You about our products or services that We believe may be of interest to You
  • Enforce the legal terms (including without limitation our policies and terms of service) that govern Your use of our Services, and/or for the purposes for which You provided the Information,
  • Provide technical support for the Site or in connection with Our services and Offerings,
  • Prevent fraud or potentially illegal activities (including, without limitation, copyright infringement) on or through Our Site or Services,
  • Protect the safety of our other subscribers or Users,
  • Perform analysis regarding how You use the Services or any part thereof such as market research, including statistical analysis of User behavior which We may disclose to third parties in depersonalized, aggregated form.
  • In order to enable Us to comply with any requirements imposed on Us by law.
  • In order to send You periodic communications (this may include e-mail), about features, products and services, events, and special offers. Such communications from Us may include the promotion of programs being organized by Us.

Disclosures of data

In connection with one or more of the purposes outlined above, we may disclose Your information to:

  • other entities within the TAM group of companies;
  • third parties that provide services to us, such as, but not limited to, website or system hosting, management, and support; data back-up; data analysis; security and storage services; IT infrastructure services; customer service; and email delivery services;
  • relevant third parties as part of corporate transactions, such as a reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer, or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets, or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceeding);

Data Retention

We will retain Your personal data for those periods necessary to fulfill the various purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Use of this Site/App by minors

 We understand the importance of protecting the privacy of minors, especially in the online environment. This Sit/App is not designed for or intentionally targeted at minors under the age of 18, and we request that minors not use this Site/App. We do not knowingly collect data from minors on this Site. If we become aware that we have received data from a person under the age of 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete such data from our records.
